NATaT members joined the Coalition Against Bigger Trucks and over 1,000 local governments in writing a letter to Congress to oppose any increases in truck size or weight. The letter was delivered at the same time as bigger-truck proponents continue to lobby federal and state legislators, as well as the Trump Administration, to allow longer and heavier trucks on the road.
In addition, a January 2018 poll found strong public opposition to heaver and longer tractor-trailers. The national live-operator poll found that 7 our of 10 likely voters oppose heavier and longer trucks.
